SAN MATEO, Calif. – Hillsdale Shopping Center is pleased to announce the opening of Flip Flop Shops, a specialty retailer dedicated to beach, surf and relaxation footwear. The new store will debut with a soft opening on Friday, March 27, followed by a grand opening celebration on Friday, April 3 at the popular San Mateo shopping destination.
Bringing a laid-back, coastal-inspired shopping experience to the Bay Area, Flip Flop Shops offers a curated selection of comfort-driven footwear for everyday wear and weekend escapes. The retailer features a wide range of popular brands, including OluKai, Reef, Rainbow, Birkenstock, Sanuk, Havaianas and more.
Established in 2004, Flip Flop Shops has grown into a recognized name in beach lifestyle retail, with locations across North America, offering top brands in one convenient destination.
The Hillsdale location is owned and operated by Bay Area natives Mike and Margarita Guizar, who bring a community-focused approach to the store. After careers in tech and healthcare legal, the couple set out to create more than a retail space, envisioning a calm, approachable environment where guests can slow down, find the perfect pair and leave feeling refreshed and renewed.
